Container Grown Topiary - (forms with legs or on a tripod stand)

Insert the topiary form directly into the ground or into a container. Starting at the base of the form, wrap the longest frond of plant clockwise around the wire. Wrap another frond counter clockwise around the form. This helps keep the plant in place on the form. Twist ties, small pieces of wire or clear fishing filament (12-14 pound test) can also be used if desired. As live plants grow, trim with scissors as desired. For continued care see “Indoor” or “outdoor” above.

Artificial Topiaries - Using eucalyptus, silk, dried or plastic materials

If you desire a “stuffed” effect it is recommended that you generously wrap the entire form with florist wire or fishing line first. This will give you many “tie off” points. Use florist wire, twist ties, glue, etc to attach the material to the form. If your form has legs or is on a tripod stand you can insert the form directly into the ground or into a container that has styrofoam, oasis, plaster, cement, or rock, etc. in the bottom. Be sure the container is sufficiently weighted to prevent tipping.
